Round table discussion moderated by Anna Réz with Ildikó Gáspár, Panni Néder, Kriszta Székely, Zsuzsa Rózsavölgyi

Are there too few woman directors and choreographers in Hungary? Or do we just hear about them rarely? However it is, there are quite a few of them in the dunaPart3 selection. They will give an insight into how they work and how they see the environment they work in.

How do we do theatre in Hungary? An entrepreneur, who has chosen not to apply for state funding, an independent theatre company that realizes its artistic projects in international coproductions and a production house that finds the source to support Hungarian artists from international cooperations, state support and their own revenue.

An account of two civil initiatives.

OFF, as any other biennale, is a biannual contemporary arts event, but of a non-traditional kind. There is no institution behind it but artists, art groups, curators, art managers, gallery managers and art collectors who have joined forces to realize the event and bring contemporary arts closer to the wider public.

TIE in Hungary
Presentation of Káva Drama/Theatre in Education Association and Round Table Theatre in Education Company 

The Káva Drama/Theatre in Education (TIE) Association has been working constantly as a theatrical and drama pedagogy group since 1996. Their main aim as Budapest’s first professional TIE group is to create complex performances and perform them regularly, mainly for the age group from 8 to 18 years old. Their theatre pedagogy work focuses on facing social questions, through which they are exploring the components of being human.

Round Table Theatre in Education Company's mission is to give children and young people the opportunity to explore and understand the most relevant questions of our time through artistic work. Round Table produces high quality participatory theatre in education programmes for young people aged 8-17. These programmes are aimed at specific age groups, with strictly one class participating at a time

The Situation of the Roma in Today’s Hungary

A talk with the representatives of the Roma community about the social situation of the Roma, about questions on education, empowerment and forms of representation of the Roma. Moderated by Andrea Tompa.

Studio presentation of excerpts from works and work-in-progress showings by dance artists. The off dance showcase is organized and hosted by the Budapest contemporary dance community itself.

PITCH SESSIONS

Both fair and pitch sessions will introduce you to the projects and plans of interesting Hungarian artists and performing arts organizations. Besides the official performance programme, the fair and the pitch session, as the whole professional programme, aims to give further insight into what is happening on the local scene and a forum to meet the artists off stage.
